things in my world

This weekend I realized that while I want children, lots of them, all laughing and yelling and running about an old farmhouse, I don't want them yet and I would very much like to skip teething, long sleepless nights and potty training. It must have been somewhere between the the 1-4am cry-athon of Sam (9months) and the millionth fit thrown by Hanna (2years) that I came to this conclusion.
There were many moments that made me smile, long for my own house and kids to fill it with noise. However the hair pulling ones between made me glad for my tiny dorm room and selfish life of pleasing me, and taking care of my every need without thought for childen dependant on my care and protection of them.

I'm quite pleased with my life as of now, besides the momentary annoyances with working and going to school.

I also realized the magnificent beauty of babysitting/nannying: you leave the children with their parents. You are not indefinitely responsible.

facts

it is 11:11.
I should be going to sleep.
but I had a coffee at 7pm so I'm not sleepy.
so I should be studying for my insane test tomorrow.
but I'm not.
I drank the coffee so I'd stay awake to study.
however, past 10:30 my cognitive abilities go a-wire.
regardless of the amount of caffeine in my body.
so I'm posting a blog.
lucky for you(or not, depending on your point of view)
very unlucky for my grade(regrdless of your point of view).
facts: how I love them.

so for the record.
I'm not homeschooling.
I'm not helping my children with homework.
I'm not having children.
summery: I'm going to homeschool or in anyways help the children I'm never having with homework: end of story.

I HATE 7th GRADE HOMEWORK.
I LOATH BEING NICE.

things to do on Sunday mornings

Things to do before leaving for church:

1.) look out window/note weather

2.) after seeing driving rain and flailing trees: check forecast online

3.) check churches web pg. to see if services are still being held

Things not to do:

1.) ignore list above

2.) wear white blouse and floor length skirt with 2x the necessary amount of fabric

3.) proceed to church after passing thru flooded roads, and by parks turned to lakes

If you aren't getting at least a small picture of how my morning went then, well, you're slow. Thankfully there are huge windows in the stairwell so I did have the forethought to run back to my room and retrieve an umbrella and jacket. However the umbrella is only worthwhile if the rain is coming down straight upon it and not at a nearly horizontal diagonal. And the jacket is only useful if it is buttoned up.

I am now, sitting in the lounge, my sopping clothes in the dryer, clad in sweatshirt, fuzzy socks and slippers. And, now that I am warm an dry, I must say the rain and bending trees are beautiful from my side of the glass. I shall spend a lazy Sunday with hot tea, text books, and a nap I think.

things I know

Since there are an infinite amount of things I don't know (this fact illustrated thru my studies) I have decided to list everything I DO know.

I'm tired.
I've had a tremendously long week.
I love Miss Vickies ranch potato chips(no MSG, hurray).
I don't want to study World Arts and Ideas.
I need to read Sand County Almanac and Backbone of the World.
I love my boys.
I miss my friends.
My bank is stupid.
I want some new socks, books, music and perhaps some shoes.
My head hurts.
Venous of Willendorf is dated approximately between 28-25,000BC according to my text (however I did not look that up. I know it.)
I just ate a cinnamon roll and chips for dinner.
I had two coffees today.
There is a guy singing in the hallway.
I am sleepy.
Ir: is the verb to go.
Leer: is the verb to read.
My mail box is 467.

:)

this is the extent of my knowledge.
goodnight.

i love Monday :)

i love Mondays.
since i'm primarily doing things of my choosing, i don't dread mondays (the ending of the weekend). tuesdays, however, i loath. for it is on this day that i come face to face with innumerable, insurmountable tasks mocking me.
"i'll never get it all done."
"the week will be half way over tomorrow."
"too much todo."
mondays are new and fresh. teusdays are task-filled.

so here's to a happy, carefree, new monday. and a lousy tuesday.

Today was my first day in kid connection, the children's program at my church, I was in a room with eight squirming 3-4 year olds. It wasn't really fun, or outstandingly enjoyable, but it was fulfilling and I already love the kids. They are so stinking adorable!
I also did the bulletin boards for our room yesterday. it was the most overwhelming task I have taken on in a long time. I have never had access to so many resources, ever. I didn't know where to begin. Stepping into the resource room is like going to my own personal heaven. It is simply amazing.
Then after church today I found the practice rooms for the music students. Little soundproof rooms just big enough for an upright and a bench. Pretty much amazing since I haven't had my piano in three weeks.

I feel as though I am running all the time and am SO busy, but somehow I always have an infinite amount of time to do the things I needs to do, and most the things I want. (okay, if not infinite, ample, gracious, you'd think I was being graded on this the way I keep correcting my grammar... spelling... usage... geez-la-weez!) anyways, my point is I need to relax and realize it will all get done and just chill a little bit more.

Trista and I waiting to ride to carousel

She kept posing saying take a picture of me, which was cute, but this one is my favorite and was totally candid. She was really this stoked she got to spin in circles while going in circles.

the way I see it

one no longer looks forward to snail mail once "bills" has been added to her vocabulary.

one should always fuel up when she first has the thought "oh i'm going to need gas soon" and not ignorantly say to herself "but i have enough for today..." assuming she will remember to get gas before she doesn't have enough.

A's are very nice things to get on papers one was mentally prepared for B's on. :)

being invited to go to a movie makes ones day go faster.

rain should not be something one forgets to enjoy.

babies may be the only innocent things left in the world.
